FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Why choose Eriyadu for diving?

Eriyadu is located at the heart of the best dive sites of North Malé Atoll. With a short boat trip, you can explore multiple sites, giving divers more time to enjoy activities during their stay. With easy access to the house reef and the shallow lagoon, Eriyadu is the perfect spot for a beginner to start diving. Some common sightings include eagle rays, schooling jacks, sea turtles, sting rays, and different kinds of reef sharks. Manta rays can be seen between January and April.

Can we dive all year round at Eriyadu?

Yes, you can dive at Eriyadu at any time of the year.

Do I need a medical certificate to dive?

A medical certificate is not mandatory if you are generally in good health. Before starting any diving activity, a medical questionnaire must be completed and signed.

If the participant is presently taking any prescribed medication, we require a medical certificate to be issued in advance to avoid possible delays.

If the participant is 75 years or older, kindly send the details to the dive centre at least 10 days before your arrival to obtain clearance from DAN. No diving activities will be possible until the Divers Alert Network (DAN) has cleared the respective person for diving.

A valid certificate of fit-for-diving presented on-site should be:

  • not older than 2 years if you are under 40 years old
  • not older than 1 year if you are 40 years or older

We also inform you that medical certificates with a limitation are not acceptable, for example, to dive to a certain depth, to dive a maximum dive time or to keep a special surface interval. The medical certificate needs to clearly state that the participant is “fit for diving” without any limitation.
